            ستاونتون، 7 فبراير/شباط — من أجل مزيد من إضعاف الأمّة الشركسية التي قامت الإمبراطورية الروسية بقتل وتهجير أسلافها في عمل من أعمال الإبادة الجماعية في عام 1864، وأصر النظام السوفييتي على أن الشركس ليسوا شعبا واحدا بل عدة شعوب، وألحّ بأن لا يحدد الشركس (Circassians) هويّتهم عن الآخرين كشراكسة، بل بأنّهم أديغه (Adygeys) وقباردي (Kabardins) و شركس(Cherkess)، وغير ذلك.             Staunton, February 7 – In order to further weaken the Circassian nation whose ancestors the Russian Empire killed and expelled in an act of genocide in1864, the Soviet system insisted that they were not only people but several and demanded that the Circassians identify not as Circassians but as Adygeys, Kabardins and Cherkess among others.
