            ستاونتون، 7 أغسطس/آب — بعد مقال انتقد موسكو بشدة لعدم قبولها المزيد من الشراكسة من سوريا (windowoneurasia2.blogspot.com/2019/07/circassian-activist-denounces-moscow.html)، طلبت وكالة أنباء ريغنوم (Regnum) للأنباء من وزارة الخارجية الروسية ابداء رد فعلها. وقالت وزارة الخارجية (MFA) إن القرارات المتعلقة بمثل هذا الدخول الى روسيا هي من مسؤولية الجمهوريات وليس موسكو. Republics, Not Moscow, Can Decide Whether to Allow Circassians from Syria to Come to Russia, Foreign Ministry Disingenuously Says

            Staunton, August 7 – After an article sharply criticized Moscow for not admitting more Circassians from Syria (windowoneurasia2.blogspot.com/2019/07/circassian-activist-denounces-moscow.html), the Regnum news agency asked the Russian Foreign Ministry for its reaction. The MFA said decisions about such admissions are the province of the republics, not Moscow.

            In yet another example of Moscow’s proclivity to shift responsibility but not resources to the regions and republics, the foreign ministry in a 600 word statement says that the republics and regions of Russia have the right to decide which applicants for admission to the country will be accepted under the compatriots program (regnum.ru/news/polit/2683485.html). 20 мая 2009 года, ровно 10 лет назад, оказавшись среди авторов толстого журнала «Дружба народов», приглашенных по поводу его 70-летнего юбилея, мы впервые услышали, что по классификации ЮНЕСКО все северокавказские языки являются умирающими. Circassians Call for All Ingush Prisoners to Be Treated as ‘Brothers’ and Returned to Ingushetia

            Staunton, August 4 – The leaders of various public organizations in Kabardino-Balkaria are calling for Nalchik jail officials to treat Ingush opposition figures as brothers who are being “repressed” until they can be returned as the law requires to their native Ingushetia. Only in that way can the rights of those under detention be guaranteed.

            Marks Shamurzov, a Circassian who heads the Association of Victims of Political Repressions, took the lead in making that argument at a meeting in Nalchik four days ago.  He was unanimously supported by others at the session and by lawyers who represent some of the 29 Ingush prisoners now being held in KBR facilities (zamanho.com/?p=11387).
