Putin awarded Artemy Lebedev with the Medal of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland

Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded Russian designer and blogger Artemy Lebedev with the Medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree. The corresponding decree of the head of state was published on the official Internetportal legal information on Saturday, August 29th.

“To award Artemiy Andreevich Lebedev, general manager of the Artemiy Lebedev Studio LLC, for his services in the formation and development of the Russian segment of the information and telecommunications network,” the document says.

Natalya Kasperskaya, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Software Developers (ARPP) Otechestvenny Soft and General Director of InfoWatch, also received a state award.

Earlier, Lebedev in a video on YouTube praised the monument “Motherland Calls!” in Volgograd, calling it ugly. So he commented on the news that residents of the city called for the restoration of the monument to its previous lighting.

Stalin Shot Higher Percentage of Educated People in Kabardino-Balkaria than Anywhere Else, New Memoir Shows

            Staunton, August 22 – Kabardino-Balkaria is one of the smallest republics in the Russian Federation, but under Stalin, a greater percentage of its educated elite was shot than in any other autonomous or even union republic, according to the late Yevgeny Naloeva, a Kabard scholar who herself was sent to the GULAG.

           Naloeva (1922-2007) specialized in the study of Kabard popular culture, and she spoke as one who had suffered the depradations inflicted on her people by the Soviet regime. He scholarly work was published in 2015. Now, her students have prepared a collection of memoirs by and about her. Read more →

Мартин Кочесоко отказался признать вину в суде

Рассмотрение дела черкесского активиста Мартина Кочесоко началось сегодня в Кабардино-Балкарии. Кочесоко, вопреки подписанным после задержания признательным показаниям, заявил о своей невиновности.

Как информировал “Кавказский узел“, прокуратура Кабардино-Балкарии утвердила обвинительное заключение по делу главы общественной организации “Хабзэ” Мартина Кочесоко 13 июля. Уголовное преследование Мартина Кочесоко связано с его общественно-политической деятельностью, уверены коллеги черкесского активиста. Следствие продемонстрировало ангажированность, считает председатель совета общественной организации “Хабзэ” Азамат Цагов, а член организации Азамат Шорман заявил об отсутствии доказательств вины Кочесоко.
