Georgian Minister Of Diaspora Affairs Met With Representatives Of The Circassian Diaspora In Turkey.
Cirkassia.net published that on November, 11, 2011, in the Sheraton hotel, Istanbul, the Minister of Diaspora Affairs of Georgia Mirza Davitaia met with representatives of the Circassian Diaspora in Turkey. Of the Circassian Diaspora who attended, the former Deputy of Turkish Parliament, Sheriff Birinsh from Bursa, Dr. Nusrat Bash, Industrialist Abdullah Teber, the spokesman for the movement “Circassian Rights Initiative” Murat Ozden and twenty other attendants.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Patriots of Cherkessia Huade Adnan, Semih Akgun, Eshref Bash, Cuba Nurhan, Fidan and Jan bash.
Minister of Diaspora Affairs of Georgia Mirza Davitaia, shared with the audience information about the Circassian genocide memorial, planned in Anaklia. Davitaia also stated that a Circassian cultural center is founded in Tbilisi to all Circassians. He emphasized that the genocide documents are necessary to be conveyed to parliaments around the world and should be brought to the attention of the public. The meeting dragged on for one and a half hour, all participants during the meeting expressed general satisfaction for Georgia’s recognition of the genocide. Additionally it was noted that developing a positive relationship between the Circassian and Georgian peoples will make a significant contribution to the preservation of peace in the region.
Georgian Consul-General in Istanbul and other consular officials attended the meeting.
