Staunton, February 5 – The pandemic has not only overwhelmed many other issues in the concerns of ethnic groups but has cost many of them leaders who have died from the coronavirus and will be difficult if not impossible to replace. As a result, Madina Aliyeva says, there is a risk that Covid-19 will overwhelm their movements at least for a time.’

Circassians Denounce Putin’s Palace, Praise Navalny’s Exposure of It in Open Letter

Staunton, January 30 – Non-Russians are often criticized for focusing on their own ethnic issues and not participating in broader political movements involving the all-Russian opposition. But in a happy exception, Circassians from the North Caucasus and the diaspora have sent an open letter to Aleksey Navalny denouncing “the Putin palace” the Russian activist has exposed.
“The Putin palace,” the letter notes, “is located on Cape Idokubas on the shore of the Black Sea not far from Gelendzhik, on the motherland of the Circassians. Следователи в Кабардино-Балкарии, которые отказались возбуждать уголовное дела в отношении силовиков по жалобе адвокатов, не провели исследование видеозаписи инцидента, заявили защитники Дианы Ципиновой и Ратмира Жилокова.
Как писал “Кавказский узел“, 4 сентября 2020 года Ессентукский горсуд посчитал незаконными действия следователя, который несвоевременно зарегистрировал заявление адвоката Дианы Ципиновой о нападении на нее силовиков и не сообщил ей о результатах его рассмотрения. После этого решения суда следует ожидать кардинальных перемен в расследовании дела, заявили в Федеральной палате адвокатов. 13 января стало известно, что следователи не нашли нарушений в действиях силовиков, после конфликта с которыми подали жалобу адвокаты.
