As Long as Russia Remains an Empire, Moscow will Be Repressive at Home and Aggressive Abroad, Eidman Says

Staunton, July 22 – As long as Russia remains an empire, Igor Eidman says, Moscow will be repressive at home and aggressive abroad, a reality that the people in Khabarovsk and elsewhere understand and why it is important to see that their opposition to the Kremlin is also opposition to the empire run from there.

“A single and indivisible Russia is needed above all by the ruling class: the bureaucracy, the siloviki and the oligarchs,” the Russian sociologist says. يقول ميدفيديف إن شعارات النبالة الشركسية نشأت مع غزو القسطنطينية

ستاونتون، 29 أغسطس/آب — ميخائيل ميدفيديف، الذي تولى الريادة في تطوير الرموز لأبخازيا والشراكسة في أوائل التسعينيات من القرن الماضي والذي يعد اليوم متخصصًا بارزًا في هذا المجال، ويقول إن أول شعارات النبالة التي استخدمها الشركس جاءت من الوحدات الصليبية التي احتلت القسطنطينية.

Circassian Heraldry Originated with Crusader Conquest of Constantinople, Medvedyev Says

            Staunton, August 29 – Mikhail Medvedev, who took the lead in developing symbols for Abkhazia and the Circassians in the early 1990s and who today is a leading specialist in this field, says that the first coats of arms used by Circassians came from Crusader units that sacked Constantinople.

            That is just one of the indications of both the antiquity of Circassian coats of arms and also of the significance of that nation, a significance that led over the centuries not only to a lively development of heraldry among the Circassians but also to the influence of that tradition on Crimea, Russian and Georgian family shields (kavkaz-uzel.eu/blogs/1927/posts/44781). فنانة من القباردي تقول في عمان بأن مهمتها هي جذب الانتباه إلى التقاليد الشركسية

ستاونتون، 27 أغسطس/آب — أصبحت زينة السعيد، من القباردي، التي كان أجدادها من بين الشركس الذين هجّرتهم القوات الروسية إلى الإمبراطورية العثمانية، وهي فنانة مشهورة في الأردن وتقول إن مهمتها في الحياة هي جذب الانتباه إلى تقاليد شركيسيا، وبالتالي تساعد على ضمان بقائها حيّة للأجيال القادمة.

Kabard Artist in Amman Says Her Mission is to Attract Attention to Circassian Traditions

            Staunton, August 27 – Zaina el-Said, a Kabardinka whose great-great grandparents were among those Circassians whom the Russian forces expelled to the Ottoman Empire, has become a popular artist in Jordan and says her mission in life is to attract attention to the traditions of Circassia and thus help ensure that they remain alive for future generations.

            She tells Marina Bitokova of the Eto Kavkaz portal that when she was growing up, everyone around her in the Jordanian capital had a motherland except for the Circassians who in response to “lost Circassia” have maintained and developed it inside themselves (etokavkaz.ru/kultura/mechty-o-poteryannoi-cherkesii).
