The Governor of Amman, Khalid Abu Zaid has verified that rejecting the peaceful demonstration (vigil) organized by the Circassian National Movement is not due to security reasons.

Abu Zaid, explained that rejecting to allow the demonstration is for the purpose of unifying  the two events, one of the Circassian Association Association, organized by Member of Upper Parliament Samir Qardan, and the other one for the National Circassian Movement, in order to be in a unified place.

Abu Zeid pointed out that there is good relations link us together, noting that a number of them hold leadership positions in the Jordanian government and in the security services.

The Ministry of Interior has refused to allow holding the annual peaceful vigil that the Movement holds in front of the Russian Embassy in Amman, for demanding justice, the right of return, compensation and self-determination.

However, the Circassian National Movement, emanated from the Jordan Association of Caucasus Circassian Friends, has denounced the rejection by the Interior Ministry.

The Movement has stressed in a statement which announced the cancellation of the vigil, its surprise for the Interior Ministry’s decision to reject holding the vigil “despite their solid knowledge of our sophisticated and distinctive performance over the past years.”
