I would like to draw your attention to the historical facts about the Circassian presence in the northwest Caucasus which dates back to the Stone Age nearly eight thousand years before the birth of Christ when they formed the Kingdom of Circassia in 400 BC at a time when there was no trace of the Russian state on the world map .
shouldn’t this illustrious history intercede for the Circassians , which delves into the depths of history to live free on their historical land of again? After the Circassians defended their historic homeland from the Tsarist Russian invasion for more than a hundred years (1763 – 1864 AD ) and within the eye sight of the great European countries at the time who did not move a finger to come to their aid as a result of this invasion more than a million Circassian souls were lost and over a million and a half persons were displaced outside their land half of which passed away because of disease and hunger .
Today, after 150 years of forced displacement, which the Circassians were subjected to the International Olympic Committee agrees to hold the Olympic winter Games in Sochi in violation of the most basic rules, regulations and principles of these games .
To be held in the same place ( Sochi ) the last bastions of Circassian resistance and on occupied Circassian territories over the bodies and skulls of their ancestors.
The Russian authorities again these days are committing acts of oppression and arresting Circassians in occupied Circassia subjecting every Circassian citizen opposing the Olympic Games to severe beating, bone cracking, in addition to blocking and shutting down Circassian websites, bringing in thousands of Cossacks in the region to terrorize the citizens outside of the rule of law, they closed the Abkhaz borders and prevented its citizens from entering the area during the the Sochi Olympics.
The Circassian Nationalist Movement emanating from Jordan Association of Caucasus Circassian Friends calls on you to conduct an investigation into the approval of the International Olympic Committee to hold Olympic Games on an occupied territory and to intervene with the Russian government to prevent the arbitrary practices and acts of abuse, oppression , arrest and the use of excessive force against Circassian citizens in Circassia.
And work to restore the historic homeland of the Circassians to their rightful owners .
