Nearly 80 percent of Russian students have mental disorders and abnormalities, said the Ministry of Health’s chief psychiatrist, general director of the Center for Psychiatry and Addiction Serbsky Zurab Kekelidze. It is reported by Tass.

“Among the abnormal mental development of preschool children – 60 per cent of the total number of schoolchildren – 70-80 percent”, – assured Kekelidze. According to him, every third student has symptoms of social maladjustment.

Chief Psychiatrist, Ministry of Health urged to introduce compulsory psychiatric education for school doctors. “We run courses for our colleagues. The school doctor must do everything so that children do not end up in the mental hospital, “- said Kekelizde.

In 2014, the Ministry of Health developed a training program for school doctors basics of psychiatry. Thus, in the department expect to work for the prevention of suicide among children. Simultaneously Kekelidze insisted on the introduction of compulsory subject “Psychology” in the school curriculum.
