REPUBLIC OF EAST TURKISTAN GOVERNMENT IN EXILE RECOGNIZES THE CIRCASSIAN GENOCIDE

Dear Chairman Kaplan and Council of United Circassia Leaders,
We appreciate your thoughtful letter and your support for East Turkistan and its people. We would also like to appreciate you for bringing to our attention the Russian Empire’s Circassian Genocide.
As a nation confronting an ongoing genocide at the hands of Chinese imperialists in the 21st century, the entire East Turkistani nation, particularly the Uyghur people, stand with the Circassian people in mourning the historic genocide committed against the Circassian people by Russian imperialists.
As the East Turkistan Government in Exile (ETGE), we consider it our moral obligation to recognize the Circassian Genocide and lament the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent Circassians at the hands of Russian imperialism. On behalf of East Turkistan and its people, we extends our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Circassian people.
We look forward to working with the Council of United Circassia and the Circassian people to raise awareness about the historic and ongoing genocide faced by both of our nations, to obtain justice
and accountability for the historic and ongoing genocides committed against the Circassian and East Turkistani peoples, and to find a permanent solution to prevent future atrocities.
