Subject: Your support in passing H.R.8035 – Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024
20th April 2024
Dear Speaker Johnson,
I am writing to you as a proud American and representative of the Committee for the Restoration of
the Statehood of the Nations of the North Caucasus also known as the North Caucasus Nations
Committee (NCNC), who’s members recently participated in the Jamestown Foundation’s
conference on Russia’s Rupture and Western Policy, a Joint Jamestown–Free Nations of Post-Russia
Forum. At which we met with Ambassador William Taylor, Ambassador John Herbst and
Ambassador William Cortney.
I wanted to extend my heartfelt congratulations on the expedited and unconditional approval of the
bipartisan aid bill for Ukraine. Your leadership and commitment to supporting freedom and
sovereignty in the face of violent despots and demagoguery are truly commendable and a beacon
shining the virtues of our healthy democracy.
This decisive action not only demonstrates bipartisan unity in a time of divisiveness in our country
and the world, but also sends a powerful message of solidarity with the Ukrainian people as they
continue to stand in the trenches against tyrannical antidemocratic violence. Your efforts in
channeling true and pure democracy in this time supporting a nation in need will not be forgotten. It
reflects a deep understanding of the true spirit of the United States of America as a champion of
democracy and human rights on the global stage.
Thank you for your dedication to this crucial cause and for prioritizing the values that unite us in the
pursuit of a better world.
Sincerely,
Iyad Youghar – Chairman

Akhmed Zakaev – Sub-committee Chairman, and Prime Minister of the Chechen Republic of
