Patriarch Of Georgia Visits Jordan And Meets With Representatives Of The Circassians And Chechens

Circassia News website in Arabic Language has published that His Holiness and Beatitude the Patriarch of Georgia, Ilia II and an his accompanied delegation have recently inspected during a visit to Jordan the Baptism site on the Eastern side of River Jordan near South Shouneh, where he viewed the archaeological, religious and historical sites in that area, as well to be acquainted with the infrastructure prepared to receive Christian visitors and pilgrims to the holly location.

During the visit, he received at his residence a number of members of the Caucasus Diaspora in Jordan of Circassian and Chechen origins, in which he inquired about their conditions and the circumstances they have experienced since they came out of their homelands, and he asked them to convey his greetings and best wishes to members of the Circassian and Chechen communities residing in Jordan.
