Introduction

On the verge of the second anniversary of Putin’s adventurous war against  Ukraine, an interview published on February 8, 2024 has caught my eye, which appeared to be a chat show. At the beginning of the more than two hours show, The Russian president Putin said that he needed 30 seconds or one minute to give “you” a short reference to history for giving “you” a little historical background, but that took more than 15 minutes.

It appeared that the person with whom the interview is supposed to be conducted decides the course of the interview, and answers questions that he himself poses in order to answer them. The Russian President appears to be as if he is in an ivory tower, and the involuntary movement of the legs, are evidence of neurological disorder.

Remarks

— Obviously, the Russian President Vladimir Putin has initiated an extended prompt one-way speech to the Western countries, therefore to address public opinion directly. Apparently, the American political commentator Tucker Carlson, a former Fox News host, was willing to listen to the self-defense. The interview was conducted on February 8, 2024, an unprecedented TV interview in Moscow with the Russian president. The interview is the first of its kind, conducted by an American media outlet since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine launched. It was broadcasted on Tucker Carlson Network (TCN) YouTube Channel. [1]

— Certainly, the intention is to address the West at large with political thoughts and biased history events, without interruption, obstacles or barriers for more than two hours. It seemed to be that the master of the Kremlin wanted to talk directly through the platform to tell fictional stories and allegations that were meant to be true narrative.

— This event prompted “CNN’s Chris Wallace could barely conceal his distaste for former colleague Tucker Carlson’s softball interview with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin this week … {Tucker Carlson showed up in Moscow to interview Vladimir Putin. It turned out to be anything but an interview,” Wallace said Saturday. “Putin droned on for two hours and seven minutes while Tucker sat there like an eager puppy. Occasionally, but rarely, he got a question}.”

— Wallace continued, “But more telling than what Tucker asked is what he didn’t ask. Nothing about why Putin invaded a sovereign country, nothing about targeting civilians, nothing about Russian war crimes. A reporter can ask Putin a tough question if he wants a real interview.” [2]

— By analyzing Vladimir Putin’s vision in an American media outlet, it seemed to be as if it was a speech addressed to Western countries, trying to express innocence from the repercussions of the devastating war, which was not devoid of official oppression, which included killing, extermination, ethnic cleansing, displacement, etc. It is not an easy task to conduct such an interview on topics that have not been previously prepared for by the interviewer. It was quite clear that TC was not aware of the events Vladimir Putin has narrated in his own way. So, the program went on, as shown in the video.

— Apparently, of the criticisms published, “the interview was released on Thursday, another likely reason Putin chose the former Fox News host for the two-hour interview became clear. For much of it, Carlson sat in silence as Putin expounded his dubious historical theories about Ukraine, aired his grievances, and pushed MAGA (Make America Great Again) talking points designed to appeal to Carlson’s core audience.” [3]

— Knowing that the Kremlin’s narrative of Russian history has been re-written according to innovative whims and scenarios. The ruling junta has reviewed all the events that occurred in Russian history, since the Muscovites era to the present day. Even acts of extermination and crimes of mass-destruction have been revised. Touches and impacts have been applied to suit the current situation.

— Since the intention was to wage a free campaign of propaganda, Putin grabbed the opportunity to speak out directly. As if he is saying the following on behalf of citizens who belong to colonized dozens of peoples and nations who, in general, yearn to gain their freedom and independence when the time is right. “It is very easy when it comes to protecting oneself and one’s family, one’s homeland,” Putin said. [4]

— Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a “statement on President Vladimir Putin’s 10 lies on Poland and Ukraine which were not rectified by Tucker Carlson.” The published statement included a correction to “10 of the lies Putin told Tucker Carlson’s audience during his interview.” [5]

— The Polish Foreign Ministry’s criticizing points included Poland’s situation during World War II and how it fell prey between the Nazis and the Soviets. As well as Poland’s relations in terms of its overlapping borders with Ukraine and the relationship with NATO. The statement corrected Putin’s words about the historical connection between Russia and Ukraine and Russia’s current ambitions in Ukraine and its territories.

Conclusion

Shuffling cards is unpalatable for the head of a state that considers itself a nuclear superpower and rules dozens of peoples and nations under the title of federalism, seeking to change the facts and realities. The intention is to provoke nations and countries against each other in regard to national borders and territorial changes. In fact he aspires to raise border and territorial issues that occurred in the past between several countries in Eastern Europe. Apparently, he wanted to revive the problems again if possible. At the same time, intending to distract their attention from the ongoing war in Ukraine. The targeted countries related to the topics raised, and European officials, expressed their concern about the information received. It is considered a stark contradiction to the truth and the events that actually occurred in the past and present. He tried to bring Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Ukraine and others into the dialogue with Tucker Carlson.
