The Chechen republic in Russia’s North Caucasus region marks Chechen Woman’s Day.
Men wearing traditional Chechen outfits hand out flowers and headscarves to women to congratulate them on the holiday.
Later on Sunday, the award ceremony will be held in the Chechen capital of Grozny. At this ceremony the authorities will hand awards to the women who were successful in politics, science, culture and public life.
The Chechen Woman’s Day, introduced by the republic’s leader Ramzan Kadyrov three years ago.
