A Superpower Disturbed of the Circassian Flag

The occupied peoples and nations of the North Caucasus, the Circassian nation in particular, are repeatedly exposed to misinformation and propaganda. They are accustomed to their national symbols being subjected to abuse and neglect. Let alone the monopoly of power and capabilities of the Circassian homeland practiced by the colonialists with the intention of keeping insulting an occupied, persecuted and dispersed nation.

However, this faithful nation believes in and adheres to “Adyghe Khabze,” which is the distinctive Circassian rules of ethical code of honor and social behavior (etiquette), customs, traditions and family values. At the same time, it is persistent, patient, and deeply rooted in its native homeland as well as in the human civilization of the Northwestern Caucasus.

It is abhorrent and disgusting to face typical colonial anger towards a nation that was occupied and forcibly annexed to the Russian entity. In this domain, the Circassian flag, which represents a national symbol, has recently created confusion and crisis in the colonial domination and decision maker circles over part of the territories of Circassia.

The Russian occupation appeared fed up and annoyed by the presence of a meaningful flag on part of the territory of the occupied Circassian homeland as a result of raising the Circassian flag by Circassians that was considered a challenge to its meager colonial entity. Consequently, a shameful scene of a dramatic show has revealed another episode of real story telling. This time a bunch of Russian security representatives, without the slightest hesitation, appeared dismantling a flagpole flying the Circassian flag. Apparently, the colonial authorities considered that a challenge to the Russian occupation and colonial administrations’ flags intruding Circassian territories and their citizens. Consequently, instructions were issued by the official central Russian administration, to implement the wicked instructions.

This was not a victory on an equal footing, with tangible progress towards reconciliation that returns rights to their legal owners; but rather one of the scenes of colonial disgrace and notoriety, in which the perpetrators are still the colonialists who have violated and defied the homeland and its people since the Russian occupation that took place on May 21, 1864. Obviously, invasion, occupation and annexation took place with the consent and blessings of other colonial powers at the time, within the usual game of dividing and sharing the valuable cake, despite the agony and suffering of the innocent victims.

This striking event took place in the Circassian village of Hajiqwa, in the Shabsough region, which is famous for the purity of its water, and it has a center for filling drinking water bottles. Informed sources reported that it is a famous village in the history of the Russian-Circassian War, which witnessed fierce events and battles between the Circassians defending their homeland and the aggressing Russian forces. Knowing that it contains some dolmans. [1]
