To Adygeya on September 3rd the journalist of the magazine “Jamestown Foundation” (USA) across Northern Caucasus Ivan Sventsitsky arrived. On the first day of his stay in the republic he met the vice-president of the republican public organization “Nafna” Aly Avgana and IА REGNUM correspondent across Adygeya Aslan Shazzo. The visitor told that at present the USA paid increasing attention to the events in Adygeya.

He noted the settled opinion that the USA tried to destabilize the situation in the Northern Caucasus was untrue. On the contrary, they are interested in preservation of peace and stability. The leadership of the foreign state could not to affect directly the situation in the region, the journalist explained, as that would be regarded as an intervention in the internal affairs of the Russian state. At the same time, mechanisms by means of which it would be possible to influence on the internal policy of other states exist all the same.

As Sventsitsky explained, during his present trip he would like to meet the leaders of public organizations, public figures who did not bear or support the idea of integration of the territory of Adygeya into the structure of Krasnodar territory, together with the young Moslems. Information the journalist should receive, would be used at the conference in Washington in the middle of September of this year devoted to the problems of the Northern Caucasus.
