Social movement Circassian congress of Adygeya sent on April 27th to the secretary of the Adygeya Government a reference to the president of the republic Khazret Sovmen. IА REGNUM correspondent was informed that by the active worker of the movement Timur Kudinetov. As he said, necessity of such reference to address of the leader of the republic was caused by regular threats of physical violence against the leader of the organization and his relatives sounded by unknown persons who looked like employees of the law enforcement bodies. In the document it was spoken:
“The reason of the reference to you is current increasing pressure upon the participants of the Adygeya republican social movement Circassian congress. There is a constant shadowing, threats of physical violence against the chairman of the movement and his relatives are carried out.
At the press conference organized by the Office of Public Prosecutor of Adygeya and Maykop town in occasion of A.S.Bezrukov’s detention, the senior assistant to the public prosecutor of Adygeya Republic Andrey Fatin named the national public organizations, which stated the precise line on preservation of the status of Adygeya Republic, ‘extremist’. In that connection he declared that in relation to their activities “very serious conclusions will be made”. In our opinion, all those actions are directed on failure of the congress of Adygeyan (Circassian) people of Adygeya Republic planned for May 21st, 2006.
Dear Khazret Medjidovich! Circassian congress carries out public activities on the basis of the norms of the international law, the Constitution of Russian Federation, the Constitution of Adygeya Republic. Our position remains constant: that is – support of the status of Adygeya Republic and the position of Adygeya president. No threats can change the position of the ARSM “Circassian congress” on this question.
We address to you as to the guarantor of legality in Adygeya Republic to call you to interfere in the situation developed around the ARSM “Circassian congress” and its leader”.
